Open Mic & Talent Night

created for joy

Sing, dance, play an instrument, tell a story, do a magic trick, show a painting, share a collection, dissect a frog…

…these are just a few of the amazing talents that have been presented at previous Show & Tell events!

JULY 6TH

a night to celebrate the talents we’ve been given!

...can you join us?

Here, I'll send all the details to your email:

Every few months, a bunch of friends (and friends-to-be) get together at our house to share and celebrate the many wonderful talents we’ve been given.

Old and young, happy and sad, dramatic and scientific.

It’s always an evening exploding with laughter and cheers.

What can you Show or Tell?

here are some ideas...

  • Sing a song
  • Play the piano
  • ...or any instrument
  • Tell a story
  • Share your testimony
  • Recite poetry
  • Exhibit your artwork
  • Show unique collection
  • Present an artifact
  • Teach a life-hack
  • Do a card trick, or
  • a science experiment!

…or come up with something completely your own!

Everything we Show & Tell is family friendly, so bring the kids!

What We'll Bring

  • Delicious food and drinks
  • Stage, microphones & speakers
  • Party hats and confetti

What You'll Bring

  • Your family & friends
  • Your special talents
  • A twinkle in your eye

JULY 6th - 6pm to late

If it’s family friendly, pretty much anything goes!*

These are always great things to share: singing, playing an instrument, telling a story, reciting poetry, sharing your testimony, or acting in a short skit.

* Stand-up comedy and lip-syncing… we don’t do those.  Late-night TV already has the monopoly on that stuff.

Very simple here: no language and no licentiousness (in lyric, visual or innuendo).  That way the whole family can enjoy!

Each act usually runs 3-7 minutes.  Use a stopwatch to time yourself and let me know an approximate length for your Show & Tell.  That helps a lot!

No. However, there are a limited number of Show & Tell spots on Open Mic Night.  These are filled first come, first served.  So yeah, RSVP is cool.

Of course, time permitting.

Depending on the turnout, there may be time for you to share two, three, or more pieces. After everyone who wishes to share something has gone up once, many artists go up for a second and third act. It’s a lightly structured, comfortably casual format.

Oh my!  You don’t have our address?

“Seek, and ye shall find!”

aka, ask via email.  =)

PA system, microphones, amplification for electric instruments, keyboard, barstools, etc.

27 to 54, and sometimes more…

Don’t have enough time to practice?  No worries!  Just bring your applause and cheer on the others!  Being a supportive audience member is an AWESOME talent.  =)

Nope.  We’ll also have indoor and outdoor games – (cards, Jenga, Codenames, GaGa Ball, Foursquare, Ping Pong, Tetherball… you get the idea).

The Agenda...ish

6PM games and stuff...
7PM food and stuff...
8PM open mic & stuff...
